Lessons Learned

On Saturday after my 'crap fair' I ran to Albertsons to get the great deals of the week. When I was in the self check out line, Hallee asked me if she could have a little pink poodle. I told her we weren't buying toys and to put it back where she got it. You probably already know where this story is going- but here it goes. I loaded up the car with groceries, loaded up the kids, and drove home. When we arrived, the girls went inside while I was unloading. I walked in the house and saw a pink poodle and Hallee sprint for the stairs. I was shocked!!
(the culprit)

Hallee had ripped off the tags so we would have to keep it. Little did she know that would not be the case. I sent her to her room while I could finish unloading and cool down a little before we had a serious talk about stealing and being honest. Hallee cried and felt bad- but she said some really funny things: Mom, "How did you get that home?" Hallee, "I sneaked it in my coat. Nobody even saw me! (with a smile)" Mom, "We can't take things that aren't ours." Hallee, "But I did ask first." When Jason got home that night, he took her back to the store. Hallee apologized and gave the pink poodle back. Hopefully, this will be the first and last time we have to teach that lesson.

Ahhh such a tough lesson to learn. I also had to do that when Jason was young. At least you taught her it was wrong and I am sure it made an impression on her. I am sure you will never have to go through it again. I enjoy your blog! I love it when you take time to post messages. Love Aunt Sondra

Hey! I love the new post. It's hard to teach kids those lessons, but it sounds like you handled it well! Miss you all!

Robyn.. I saw your blog through bettie's and thought that I would drop you a little note. Your family is so big and so cute! That is so exciting that you have three, they are so cute! Hey I know that this is probably like 10 years to late, but I wanted to say sorry for treating you the way I did. I am sorry that I took all of my anger and frustration out on you and definalty when we played sports. I hope that all is well and again I am very sorry for everything! Heide
